About OMI
OMI is where you'll find the most authentic, premium wagyu beef don rice bowls and much more at a Japanese restaurant in Canberra city. It has grown exponentially since its humble beginning in November 2017, when it opened its first store. OMI only sources the highest-grade wagyu that has received good MBS ratings from a curated set of local Australian suppliers. Through their meticulous methods, the cattle are bred to carry the "soft" gene responsible for buttery meat that melts in your mouth.
To create an accessible elevated rice bowl that will always taste fantastic, we only use premium ingredients and proteins like salmon and scallops that are suitable for sashimi. At OMI, we mix authentic Japanese rice bowl components with high-quality ingredients, like premium fresh Wagyu beef in Canberra that goes perfectly with Rice Dons and Udon Noodles, which are both traditional Japanese dishes.
In line with our fusion philosophy, OMI has a variety of signature sauces that set it apart from the typical Japanese restaurant in Canberra, from a delectable black truffle sauce to a Singaporean chilli crab sauce that's packed with three different spices.
