Inaugurated in 1989 by the Rotary Club of Singapore, The Entrepreneur of the Year Award (EYA) is the oldest Award in Singapore that honours local entrepreneurs who have shown outstanding performance as business owners, be they emerging or established enterprises, in their respective industry fields.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award (EYA) is the oldest award in Singapore that honours local entrepreneurs who have shown outstanding performance as business owners, be they emerging or established enterprises, in their respective fields. Now in its 31th year, the EYA is jointly organised by the Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME) and the Rotary Club of Singapore. The Award prides itself for the high qualifying criteria, rigorous rounds of site visits, and stringent judging process.
The EYA continues to build upon its legacy as one of Singapore’s most established business accolades where top entrepreneurs are showcased on a platform of national scale. It is also an excellent opportunity to embark on a fulfilling and rewarding Award Journey that spurs business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs to aim higher and achieve greater success in the business arena.
Ven Chin is a Serial Entrepreneur and has won multi awards in Singapore and Australia.
The first OMI is located at Chadstone Shopping Center, the largest Shopping Mall in Southern Hemisphere and Australia. 6 OMI outlets were opened within 2 years. OMI will be expanding to other cities in Australia in 2020.
Ven Chin has more than 12 years of experience in finance, consulting and F&B. He holds a Master of Business Administration (Distinction) from the Manchester Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Actuarial Studies from the University of Melbourne.
Prior to founding OMI Group, Ven founded GD Group, an award-winning restaurant chain in Singapore. Under Ven Chin’s management, GD Group has grown to 7 restaurants with Turnover of SGD15 Million under the brand of Gurney Drive, Penang Culture, Penang St Buffet & Mamak Culture in a span of 6 years.
